Dear Family,
Most if not all of you know Cindy and I have been trying to adopt a child
through LDS Family Services. We turned our paperword in over two years ago
and have been waiting ever since to be selected by a birth mother as the
adoptive parents of a child she is placing for adoption. Late in March of
this year we were selected to become the parents of a new born boy due on
May 9th. We are very excited by this development.
Last night we received a call from our case worker explaining the birth mom
is having second thoughts about placing the baby. Tori understands and
accepts the overwhelming evidence that she and the baby will be much better
off spiritually and temporally if she places the baby in an LDS Family
Services home. Even though she knows placing the baby is the right thing
to do she wants to keep the baby and raise it as a single parent. She
understands this is selfish thing for her to do but can't figure out in her
own mind how to choose differently. She is surrounded by loving family and
friends who understand the need for placement and are trying to help her
make the best decision for her and the baby.
We will appreciate it if you will keep Tori, her close associates and
family, and us in your prayers and fasting this Sunday. We hope for the
outcome that Heavenly Father would want and are praying that all parties
will feel the comfort of the comfortor to help them be able help Tori and
the baby have the best possible outcome.
Thanks for everything. We love you,
Marty & Cindy Witbeck
