We have the round chrome single lever dual motor contol with the pull =
out button in the center mounted on the cockpit wall by the storage =
locker. It has become quite sloppy and it is difficult to get boat up to =
top speed. I can't seem to be able to identify manufacturer, but am able =
to note # M-1093-D2 on rear. Am Wondering if anybody has been able to =
repair/replace bushings.Or suggest replacement that will come close to =
fitting in same area w/similar connections. Any ideas are welcome.

If you cant get the motor up to speed, the problem is likely in the cable brake, not the motor control. The cable brake is a u shaped piece of metal that fits over the throttle cable, separate from the motor control. It has one bolt running through it with two nuts on it. Tightening the bolt on the shell of the cable has the effect of making the cable harder to move, which in effect prevents the spring on the mount where the end of the cable is attached to the engine throttle control from backing up. If you don't have such a device on the cable, find out who sells replacement cables in your area and talk to them about the cable brake. Its like a 25 cent piece of metal that will solve your problem and save you the replacement cost of a complete new control. The control I believe is made by Morse, a pretty generic control company that should be easy to replace if you need to.
