I wanted to update the group on a new Spinnlock stopper that I've found =
that will work wonders in releasing those running backstays when they =
are under pressure. =20

We have a Harken set up on the running backstays on Relentless and from =
time to time we've been unable to release the stay due to the fact that =
with the cam cleat you have to pull the line ever so slightly toward you =
to begin the release. At times there was so much pressure on the line =
it was very, very, hard to pull the line toward you. Spinnlock has =
developed a stopper that will fit where most of these cam cleats screw =
down onto sheaves. The Spinnlock stopper works just like the cam cleat =
but does not require that the line be pulled towards you. You simply =
angle the line either up to lock or down to unlock and regardless of the =
stress on the line the stopper will open and release the line. They run =
about $40 each but are well worth it.
