Thanks for the note Art. Glad to see you made it home safely.

I am planning on participating in Larchmont and working on logistics now. We only had five boats in Newport and it would be great to see a better turn out in September. Frers 33 owners are all nice people and it's fun to compete in a one design event.

It was great seeing everyone in Newport last week. NYYC put on their usual first-class event and we enjoyed 11 races and beautiful balmy weather in Newport. I hope we have more Frers owners on the line next year!

SAVE THE DATE! September 9-10, 2006
In conjunction with the Larchmont NOODs, we are attempting to declare a Long Island Sound Championship. Last year, Sailing World threw in extra trophies if the class declared the NOODs as a class championship event. So why not?
I hope the 4 boats we had last year - Out of Reach II, Persistence, Tease, and Brilliant will all be there, as well as a few adders. I can speak for Brilliant - we are planning for it. Arnie Lesser is also making serious plans to get Bon Coeurs on the line. That would make 5, and give us a one design start. In Newport on Sunday, Dave Nauber said he would look into bringing Wolverine down - right Dave?
Jim, how about bringing More Magic to the party? You and I had some close racing in Newport last year, and this is closer to home.
I count 16 boats between CT and downstate NY. I know some of you are only cruisers, one or two are new owners, but if you have any interest in racing, there is no better way to get some tips on improving your performance than to come out to a one design event and meet your fellow owners.
Last year we had a very competitive event, but it was slightly diminshed by sharing the division with a hot-shot J29. Still it was a great time, and one which bears repeating.
Louis Nees (Out of Reach II) is listed as the official coordinator, I am the official rabble rouser. Louis, if you need any help with the orgnization, let me know. I'm not sure what we have to do about declaring the championship, other than just letting them know.
If your challenge is finding crew, we can help out there. Some new owners as well may look to crew the first year. We also have folks from MA who come down to crew this event, so let us know what you need.
  Let's start making plans!
