Rich,

My step plate is I guess all the way back. The trailing edge of the step plate is right at the edge of the step up into the forward area. My mast is fairly equal side to side but nearly touching the forward edge of the deck opening. It took some doing to get the mast that far forward at the deck but it has provided very good performance with minimal pre-bend. Upwind the boat is hard to beat and off the wind we can hold our own against most of the fleet except for a Frers 36 and a C&C 40 that seem to be unstopable.

Cheers,
Frank Albert

I'm looking for some advice on the mast position, both at the step and in the deck opening. My mast currently has the step plate all the way back and the mast has 3/4 of the opening on the port side and 1/4 on the starboard side. But is perfectly straight.

Thanks
Rich
