Hi Dan,

Thanks for your message and timely reminder. Yes, we do need to get everyone thinking about it and making a commitment pretty soon. As of now, I think we only have four who are definitely committed. They would be you, Art, Mark Dixon who's one of the new owners and me.

I know there are several new owners who are going to be racing their boats this year but not yet on board for Newport. I can only say that the experience is valuable on the race course, loads of fun ashore and absolutely critical to the continued health and vibrancy of the class. All three are good reasons to support the Newport event, but you could pick any one of them to justify your committment.

The Sail Newport Regatta (http://208.106.141.167/npt/m/_general/06newporthome.asp) is July 13-15. If you need help with housing, Sail Newport offers a free service to help you locate just the right accommodations for you and your crew. If you have any questions or need help with anything, please email me directly (dnauber@classeaudio.com) or call my mobile (860) 301-7011.

Thanks for supporting the class and I look forward to seeing you all in Newport.

Art et al,

I haven't seen any responses for a potential one design in Newport. WildThing would love to race if we can get six boats. The venue is fun, race committee is great and you do work/play) hard.

Overall it has been a great experience every year for us and its a great way to learn the boat better with your peers!

Cheers,
DJB

Updates to the Frers 33 web site:

I have posted Kurt's note regarding our need to elect new officers, and the tentative list of one-design events.

I've listed Newport Regatta for our Nationals again - can we get six boats? I'm counting on the newly enlarged Westbrook fleet to help bolster attendance.

Larchmont NOODs was strong last year - can we keep it up with the boat turnovers? This was a great event, and it goes a long way in providing visibility to our class.

Don Horton passed along an invitation for our class to join the Cedar Point YC One Design event in June. Speaking for myself, I think this is a class operation, and the timing makes for a terrific season opener in a tight division. We have at least 4 Frers 33s in the immediate vicinity, so how many of us will make it out?

The ground hog told us spring is coming early, so start planning now!

Art
