We will be including a section on sample rig measurements. It would be useful if we had a few more comparisons. If you know or can check yours quickly and provide some additional feedback it would be useful. Some of the measurements we are looking for include: 1. Mast butt placement relative to the maximum aft location (E.g. 1" forward of max aft position, all the way forward, etc.) 2. Mast at the partners (E.g. 1" block behind mast at partners) 3. Mast rake (Measured at the boom, E.g. 12" of aft mast rake measured at the boom) 4. Shroud tension measured with a Loose gauge for rod rigging uppers, lowers intermediate or number of turns past hand tight. 5. Max backstay pressure used 6. Heasdstay length (pin to pin) 7. This month brings boats in the North, = =0Afinally splashing around in the water again, and thoughts of racing danc= ing like =0Asugarplums - or however that goes.

=0A

It also brings an updated version of =0Athe Frer= s-33 Tuning Guide, due to the hard-driving efforts of Rod Stright, with =0A= contributions from several owners.  Find this in the Tuning Guide link= to =0Athe left.  (on the web site)

=0A

We have been invited to participate =0Aas a class in s= everal regattas across Long Island Sound this year.  Because =0Aof the= high concentration of boats in the CT area, we have chosen to congregate = =0Aon the weekend of July 10 & 11 at the Branford and Pine Orchard =0AR= egattas.  These are two separate events, but we will look to score =0A= ourselves across both Regattas as a Series.  We have 6 or 7 boats alre= ady =0Acommitted, so shake out a reef, and join us!  Dave or I can hel= p =0Acoordinate, but Jim Mormile has been the driver and coordinator of thi= s =0Aevent.

=0A

The foll= owing weekend is the NYYC =0ARegatta in Newport.  With Branford as a h= alf-way stopping point on the way =0Ato Newport, Brilliant is making the tr= ek, as is Wolverine.  Let's see if we =0Acan get a few more boats up t= here.  With a One-Design class, we can choose =0Aa 2, 3, or 4 day even= t.  If we don't get enough boats together for =0AOne-Design, we will r= ace in a PHRF division, so either way we race.  This =0Aevent is still= listed as our official National Championships, and I'd really =0Alike to s= ee that trophy circulate a bit more! No offense Dave.

=0A

If anyone wants an early season =0Atune-u= p event, the "Race for the Case" (of rum) has us listed as a class, but =0A= will fold us into a PHRF division if we don't get the requisite number of b= oats =0Aout.  This event is May 22-23. At least Brilliant and Bon Coeu= rs will be =0Athere.  http://www.lhyc.org

I understand from Scott= Marino that =0Awe have been invited to the Housatonic Boat Club Invitation= al on Saturday, =0ASeptember 11th as well.  Anyone interested, contact= Scott, or Art.

=0A

In m= ore mundane news, I've decided =0Ait's time to clean up the old news from t= he home page.  I think all the =0Aarticles are in the email threads an= yway, but if anyone misses anything from it, =0AI have a backup copy.
