Hi Guys,

Very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I have only know Jim for a little more
than two years and just met him last year at the Branford and Pine Orchard
regattas he was instrumental in organizing and seeing the races went off
without a hitch. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. Jim
was very active in the class and always a gentleman and very helpful in any
dealings associated with the class or the Frers 33 in general, offering to
meet us in Branford, drive us around and take us wherever we wanted to go
and always there on the race course with the competitive spirit that we all
so admired.

It is indeed unfortunate and with our regatta just two weeks away it will be
especially tough for all of us to be there without Jim, I know he will be
foremost in our minds. We all also know he would want us there enjoying
each others' company and reviving the competition in the class he worked so
hard to promote.

I humbly suggest that our portion of this regatta be renamed the Jim Mormile
Memorial Frers 33 Regatta or something similar.

Jim was very committed to the class and worked very hard to make this event
happen so I feel it is a well-deserved well-earned tribute and it is one way
we can show our appreciation to Jim and his family as well as the area of
Branford and Pine Orchard.

Long may your big jib draw, Jim

Rod Stright and the crew of the Frers 33 Equinox

Canada
