Scott, I think that is a great idea to get all of us to put our thoughts to=
gether to discuss how the day went, and what we can do to help each other t=
o advance in the class. Maybe we could help each other get the rigs tuned a=
nd the boats set up prior to the regatta. it would be nice to have the=C2=
=A0boats tighter together in the upwind legs and get the boat speeds more e=
ven. My personal experience is that the boats performance is better when sa=
iling with a Tuff Luff or Harken twin stay vs sailing with the full harken =
R/F foil. It was noticable as the front 3 boats sailed with the lighter hea=
dstay. We have the option of=C2=A0 both, one for racing the other for cruis=
ing. the boats with the newer sails seem to have an=C2=A0advantage upwind. =
our spin=C2=A0is now 5 years old and still had good down wind performance.=
=C2=A0We sailed with our uppers at 37-40, for this event, D2,s at 10=C2=A0a=
nd d1,s at 10, backstay between 1000-1200. Hope these ideas help everybody.=
It was a fun event
for us, would have liked to have done better, but nice to sail as a one de=
sign vs PHRF. Hope to see all that participated soon or next year. Maybe we=
can have=C2=A0gathering over the of season.

Hey boys,
=C2=A0
Great seeing you all in Branford this past weekend.=C2=A0 I had a great vie=
w of all your boats from the back.=C2=A0 I remember thinking how pretty tho=
se Frers are.=C2=A0 Well, there's always next year...
=C2=A0
I've been thinking about how to make the event better for us Frers One desi=
gners next year.=C2=A0 You know, in order to keep us coming back even thoug=
h we come in last... Here are my thoughts:
=C2=A0
1)=C2=A0 Arrange to have all the boats docked together so the crew and owne=
rs can mingle and check out the fleet. (and party together)
2)=C2=A0 Facilitate at least one and preferably two clinics during the week=
end focused on tactics, strategy, tuning, or whatever we feel is most impor=
tant.=C2=A0 Best in class are automatically nominated to speak.=C2=A0 Dave,=
Ed, and Bob that means you.
3)=C2=A0 Arrange for a debrief after Saturday's race for all Frers=C2=A0Cap=
tains and crews to talk about the race and the boats.=C2=A0 This could be a=
great learning opportunity for all.
4)=C2=A0 Create an off-season gathering that is education based and will ma=
ke for a good social event.
=C2=A0
I've also been thinking it might be nice to have a Frers 33 summer series m=
ade up of three venues.=C2=A0 Whomever shows up for teh most races and has =
the best results gets the trophy.=C2=A0 Milford if hosting a Frers 33 One d=
esign at the end of September and HBC (my club) is willing to host our boat=
s for a one design class in our annual race in early September.=C2=A0 This =
is quite a bit of work for us but it gets the boats together more often whi=
ch helps the fleet grow.
=C2=A0
Can't wait 'til the next time.=C2=A0

he pack.=C2=A0 I know I will be studying, and on the verge of tears.
