My boat came with both a large dodger and a bimini. The large dodger is in
the way for racing, even with the canvas off and the frame folded forward.
The frame is so big that I couldn't even carry it on top of my mid-size SUV.
I have never had the bimini on the boat, but the frame is even larger. Both
fit with the traveler in the traditional location, but the dodger doesn't
come very far back. Because of the size of the frames, I doubt it is
practical to ship either a large dodger or a bimini.
Having spent several days baking in the sun on a recent cruise, I am
considering installing the bimini before my next cruise. I have always
wanted a small dodger to protect the companionway in bad weather, but I have
never seen a design that allowed the use of the cabin-top winches. I would
love to see Bob's design for Blackhawk.

Normally I don't like dodgers on my racing boats; however, after just
transiting the open ocean for two days and two days back from Baddeck Cape
Breton and nearly freezing to death I'm giving it serious consideration.
1. Does anyone have one in good condition they are interested in
selling?
2. Does anyone have any pictures of a design that works well.? I am
concerned that the location of the traveller will impact the efficiency of a
good design.
Regards
Rod
