Rod, Don't know how useful this is as I have a Frers 36. My fuel tank is
situated under the port settee. Hardest part (not very hard) was getting the
settee sliding support board out of the way - required bending the board to
remove it from its slot. I then needed to disconnect and remove the fuel
fill line, the lift pump lines and the fuel gage sender unit wires, all very
easy. Tank was held in by two straps, again very easy - two screws undid the
straps and tank came right out. My tank is aluminum and was rotted through
all along the bottom corner length, (tank is of triangular section).
Cleaned-up corrosion and had a local welder weld a 2 inch section along the
length of the tank. Used some smooth garden pebbles which I shook (more
slide than shook) around the tank, to clean the inside of the tank and
flushed it out for about 20 minutes with a garden hose. Cleaned-up really
well. Installed tank beginning of last season and touch wood, I have not had
the fuel supply issues I was having since. I replaced the sender unit
(cheap) and the lift pump fuel lines while I had everything disassembled,
which was very worthwhile in my case.

Has anyone removed and/or cleaned out their plastic fuel tank? If so did it
come out easily or were you able to clean it out in place.
