Hi y'all (from Texas temporarily),

Symptoms:
1. Boat on the hard, if I grab the rudder and try to move it - not turn it -=
 move it, it has a little bit of wiggle, mostly fore-and-aft - maybe 1/4" at=
 the bottom of the rudder.

I'm thinking this may be the teflon sleeve/bearing that I have read about. I=
f so, where can U buy one?

Issue 2:

I don't know if this is related to 1 or not, but would like to know.

OK. My steering pedestal is an Edson, rack and pinion unit. There is about 1=
/4" play in the movement of the wheel. At the dock, if it's windy with some h=
arbour chop, if I lock it, it bangs a bit.

I have had the pedestal apart and found nothing.=20

Is this related to the movement in the rudder post?
