Bob=E2=80=99s advice is certainly better than mine, but if you want to be a=
bit more quick and dirty, I=E2=80=99ve had good luck with Pettit FlexPoxy.=
It comes in a calking tube with two chambers, so you meter it out with a c=
alking gun and mix it on a plate. Super easy, not a drippy mess like West s=
ystem pumps. The epoxy is a gel like consistency (without any additives nee=
ded) so you can fill up the void under the hole and smooth the outer surfac=
e to the approximate foil shape with a putty knife. It keeps it=E2=80=99s s=
hape while it sets even on the bottom of the keel. Much easier than to use =
than West epoxies. If you really tore up the glass shell in a grounding, th=
en you=E2=80=99ll need to get out the cloth and resin, but I=E2=80=99ve mad=
e two keel repairs of about 3 inches long where the joint between the two s=
ides had deteriorated and broken off. Both repairs were a single applicatio=
n then sanded smooth. I also use Flexpoxy to fillet the joint between the k=
eel and hull and to fair in the strut, and it lasts several seasons unlike =
Marine tex which cracks and flakes after a year. I have pictures, but i don=
=E2=80=99t think I can put them on this forum.
