Whoops, I made a typo, new base rating is 114, not 117!

Important race info at the bottom, read all the way through!=C2=A0
Unless you read the November minutes you probably aren't aware yet, but bac=
k in November I made a case to YRALIS that the base rating for the Frers 33=
(originally assigned in 1986) had not held up to the test of time and was =
no longer as competitive against the bigger and/or more modern Asym boats t=
hat we are frequently racing against as it once was especially since we nee=
d more coordinated and skilled crew than they do all things being equal wit=
h a Masthead symmetrical rig, and lighter boats like the J92 which level ra=
te with us have asym kites and fractional headsails, and thus can sail with=
fewer crew while being typically faster on the water off the wind /downwin=
d.=C2=A0=C2=A0
The good news is I just received was confirmation from YRA that tonight aft=
er having deliberated and evaluated a bunch of other level or near level ra=
ted boats over the winter break, they concluded that they are in agreement =
with me and as such have adjusted the base rating for the Frers for the fir=
st time in its history!=C2=A0=C2=A0
The new YRALIS base is 117 for both windward / leeward as well as distance =
races, a 3 second change from the original 111 rating.=C2=A0 That should he=
lp narrow the performance gap between some of the newer sport boats or big =
~40ft cruising hulls that we always level rate with.=C2=A0
Really what I'm trying to say is who wants to come race in Western Long Isl=
and Sound?=C2=A0 =F0=9F=98=81
---
Also not formally announced yet, but now officially happening, Cedar Point =
is hosting a new regatta this year on June 5/6, with a party on the 7th.=C2=
=A0 It will be a new distance race with a 101nm short course, and a 151nm l=
ong course, both entirely within long Island sound to eliminate any require=
ments for costly life rafts or MOM8 (or equivalent) devices onboard.=C2=A0 =
In other words, this race is going to count as a full 4 point major distanc=
e race equivalent to the vineyard race in points, open to boats with PHRF r=
atings under 120, And will be significantly cheaper to compete in without s=
afety at sea and other safety requirements imposed by exiting Long Island S=
ound. Entries should be available on yacht scoring starting in the next cou=
ple of weeks.
Southern Cross will be competing in the long course, and I hope to see seve=
ral of you on the water as well.

Bill, my boat had a 7 gallon Todd tank sitting on a built in platform under=
the v-berth on the port side. I was the third or fourth owner.=C2=A0 I rep=
laced it with a 13 gal. Todd tank. Had to make a small vee slit in the open=
ing to wrestle it through to the platform. I put in a new Jabsco Twist n Lo=
ck toilet. I=C2=A0 have=C2=A0 Y valve to either direct output straight over=
board or into the tank.=C2=A0 The tank can only be pumped through the deck =
fitting.=C2=A0

I wouldn't mind changing the configuration. The current location means long=
hose runs to and from the head and pumpout fitting. It looks like the blad=
der would fit ok under the port side of the v-berth, but I was wondering wh=
at other solutions exist. I have no idea what the original configuration=C2=

erted to the bladder due to some tank configuration issues.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
