I asked my rigger about it and this was his reply:
=C2=A0 =C2=A0The inside of a Frers 33 boom is a little crowded do to the ma=
in sheet fine tune {at least on Wolverine} not sure if other boats have tha=
t feature. I am not sure how exactly the purchases are set up, but I know y=
ou will have to take of the front end of the boom off to replace the contro=
l line. that might give you enough slack to replace the control line, but a=
t this point I would =C2=A0take the back end of the boom off and pull the e=
ntire outhaul out for a good inspection, tie a messenger on one end to make=
it easier to pull back in. I believe Wolverines outhaul is either 6:1 =C2=
=A0or 8:1 and works really well. I have other ideas if friction is the prob=
lem or things are binding let me know. =C2=A0

Dave

Scott upgraded mine when he had the boat, I think he said it's 8:1 now, ma=
ybe even 10:1.=C2=A0 =C2=A0Only complaint with the extra purchase is that p=
ulling it back out can get rather hard once the main is down.=C2=A0

I last touched mine at least 10 years ago. It=E2=80=99s at least 4:1. =C2=
=A0I flipped it around and added an extra purchase (5:1?) while I was at it=
. Didn=E2=80=99t really help, I think it=E2=80=99s binding a bit in there n=
ow.=C2=A0
I second the idea of the messenger line. If I recall correctly the forward =
block is mounted on the bolt for the mainsheet bail unless there is another=
bolt aft of that. You access by removing the aft cap. Find someone with sk=
inny arms if you need to service anything forward if that!

I need to replace the control line, exiting the foreword end boom.=C2=A0 Do=
es anyone have experience with this? I'd like to know the inner working/set=
-up of the pulley system, length of line needed (cleated on boom) and/or an=
y tips on how best to access it for replacement.=C2=A0
Happy new year and thanks in advance!
