It's aluminum if I recall correctly, hence the pitting issue I have, but
don't know if hollow or solid. Thinking solid but only guessing.

In estimating the weight when you drop it, consider the core may be
saturated with water like mine was. I didn't weigh it but my quite strong
son and I could barely lift it and we used a dolly to get it into the
garage. Definitely far more than 117 lbs.
