I inquired with Edgartown Yacht Club for a copy of race instructions (no= t notice of race) from last year for round the islnd. They don't seem to ha= ve them.

Read an articl years ago that suggested a below deck unit. If the pedastal gets whacked you can still steer with the auto unit.

Persistence has a Raymarine ST6002 wheel pilot.  It works well except in waves.  In waves it gets overwhelmed and the gears slip.

It is a simple system to install and use.

Q1 Has anyone gone so far as to build a new rudder or have suggestions on who might build them or have a mold?  Attempting to remove Silvergirls rudder in order to replace the bushings, the post was so worn, ridged and distorted that it could not be removed without grinding significant portions of the post down.  I think the best plan for me is to start anew.

Q2- I'd like to install an auto-pilot.  I would like to stay in the Garmin family, but have only heard of Raymarine EVO-200's being installed on the Frers 33.  Do any of you have suggestions for an auto pilot?

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
Jay
