Hi Greg,

I'm pleased to inform you that your entry #70, LED Flat Panel, has been
selected as a finalists and been given the award of "Special Focus for Light
Distribution" in the 2009 Lighting for Tomorrow SSL Competition. All
entries selected as finalists have been sent to testing and final winner
announcements should be made in June.

The photometric testing, as part of DOE's CALiPER program
(http://www.netl.doe.gov/ssl/comm_testing.htm), will measure total luminous
flux, CCT, CRI, and luminaire wattage. The testing will also include
measurement of the luminous intensity distribution and temperature of the
luminaires in operation. A detailed test report will be prepared and made
available to individuals registering on the DOE SSL website listed above.
Individuals requesting detailed test reports must agree to abide by DOE's No
Commercial Use policy. The test report for your product will note that the
product tested was a sample submitted for the Lighting for Tomorrow contest.
We will send you the draft test report for review before it is made public.
Results of tests completed on your product will also be included in the
summary report made available for direct download on the website. The
summary reports do not include manufacturer or model information.

We will be in touch with final winner announcements when the testing process
is complete.

Please remember that the results of the competition are not publicly
announced until the American Lighting Association Conference (September
13-15, 2009 in Palos Verdes, CA). We ask that you keep your news private
until the event.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call.

Thanks and congratulations!
