Attached is the list of roads that will be seal coated starting the week =
of September 25. The Town has contracted Fahrner to do the work. The =
stone that will be applied over the sprayed on tar emulsion will be =
precoated. The precoating reduces the dust and reduces the amount of =
excess stone that is involved with most chip seal projects. Sealing the =
roads prevents water form getting into the base. If water gets to the =
base, the freeze and thaw cycle in winter will break up the roads.=20
Next year the Town will chip seal all of the remaining Town roads that =
are in good condition. The roads that are in poorer condition will be =
pulverized and new asphalt will be laid. This year, the Town will lay =
down asphalt on South Gammon Road, on Valley View Road from Sugar Maple =
west to the large culverts east of Meadow (the City of Madison will be =
laying asphalt from County M (Junction Road) to Sugar Maple including =
the Town portions) and the entrance to Applewood.
The Town will be constructing parking lots at Voss Park and Hickory =
Woods Park.
In the near future Swoboda Road east of Magellan will be closed for two =
days as the large culverts are installed.
