Branch pickup was supposed to start on the 21st. With the snowbanks =
alongside the roads creating unsafe conditions, we have delayed the =
branch pickup service until next week. In April through Nov branch =
pickup will start on the third Monday of each month. The crew begins in =
the south and works north.=20
The Town does not pick up non-wood vegetation or stumps or branches cut =
by professional tree services (they are supposed to remove everything =
that they cut).=20
Branches should be placed just off the pavement with the butt ends of =
the branches should be facing the pavement. The chipper can handle =
branches up to 8 inches in diameter. Wood cut in manageable lengths will =
be picked up people looking for firewood.=20
Leave the branches as long as possible. No not pile up larger branches =
because they become intertwined and increase the difficulty of feeding =
them into the chipper.
Anyone wanting loads of chips should call Jerry Wagner at 575-1045 =
during normal work hours, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday =
except holidays.
