Residents who are qualified electors (at least18 years old, resident for =
at least 10 days, not a felon, etc.) are eligilbe to vote at tondight's =
Special Town Meeting. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.=20
The first order of business will be establishing the voting procedure. =
There will be a motion made to; 1) vote on paper ballots, 2) allow =
individuals to vote starting as soon as the motion printed on the ballot =
has been adopted, 3) designate an area of the gym for individuals =
requesting more information to have discussion, 4) allow individuals to =
pick up a ballot as late as 8:30 p.m.(electors in line at that time will =
be given a ballot), 5) require ballots to be cast by 8:45 p.m. (electors =
in line at that time will be allowed to cast their ballot).
If that motion is adopted, next a motion will be made and seconded to =
vote yes or no on the following question; "Should the Town of Middleton =
borrow and contribute $1.25 million to Dane County for the purchase of =
Sunnyside Seed Farm as a county park within the Town?"
The question will then be called and voting will commence.
After the last ballot has been cast the results will be announced.
The Town Board will be meeting concurrent with the Special Meeting. =
After the results of the vote are announced, if the vote is in the =
affirmative, the Town Board may take action to communicate conditions to =
Dane County.
