deadline for Baseball and Softball Registration is fast =
approaching! All
forms need to be turned in to the Town Hall by March 31, 2009. You =
can
also register in person on Tuesday, March 10, at the Town Hall between =
6-8
pm. Registrations received after March 31 are subject to =
team
availability and must include a $20 late fee. No refunds provided =
after
April 30, 2009.

Affairs Art
Poster is now available at the Town Hall. This year's 34 X 20 inch =
poster
is available at no cost but a donation is requested. Office hours =
are 8:30
a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:30-Noon on Fridays. =

The
Cultural Affairs art poster has become a signature icon and beloved, =
annual
tradition celebrating arts and culture in Dane County. A reproduction of
September Flora by Dane County artist Lee Weiss graces the 2009 edition
honoring the Commission's over thirty years of community service. The =
original
painting (watercolor, 40"x 26", 2007) is an enchanting =
representation
of a flowery green landscape in Madison’s Hoyt Park.
Weiss,
a phenomenal and unflagging artist of 80 years, is one of the most =
celebrated
and awarded artists in Wisconsin today and named a Who's Who in American =
visual
arts. =
While living in =
Madison for
the past several decades, she and her artwork have become =
internationally
acclaimed.
Weiss
has a unique and adventurous watercolor painting style. She developed a =
process
of painting on both sides of the paper, turning the painting over and =
over while
she paints, building up textured layers before detailing the subject. =
The result is often a rich and dreamily textured
painting, which still retains the transparency of the watercolor medium. =
Weiss'
works have been included in such public collections as the Smithsonian
Institute, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and many of the top =
galleries,
museums and corporate collections throughout the nation. Her works even =
have
graced the walls of the White House in Washington =

The Town has received the ballots for the April =
7th
Spring Election. You can stop by during office hours =
Monday-Thursday
8:30am-4pm or Friday 8:30am-Noon to vote by absentee. The attached =
form
will need to be filled out to request an absentee ballot. You can
absentee vote any time between now and Monday, April =
6th.
Reminder, you must be a registered voter to vote by absentee =
ballot.
