It is the town’s intent to spray weeds in the =
parks
named above, weather permitting, this
week starting Tuesday the 26th. =
Town residents have received several notices of =
spraying
recently, but there is only an intention to spray one or two times per
year. Given the requirements to notify residents, you have =
received
multiple notices of the attempts the Town has made to achieve this =
goal.
We apologize for the excessive notices and confirm that until signage is
posted, the spraying hasn’t been achieved regardless of electronic
notices received. Once signs have been posted in these parks, rely =
on the
information on the posted signs.
As always, the Town requests that residents avoid =
these
areas for a 24-hour period after they are sprayed. Thank you for =
your
patience and cooperation.
Recently there has been an increase in inappropriate
activity at Town Parks, with some vandalism occurring after parks have
closed. We are asking residents to be mindful if living near parks =
in
observing park activities. We are in particular requesting parents =
to be
supportive of maintaining town property in parks in its appropriate =
place and
form in conversations with their children. =
Our Parks are an integral part of the quality of life =
in our
Town, and maintaining them requires both labor and materials that the =
Town
seeks to use to the best effect possible. The cost to reverse =
vandalism
takes away from efforts to improve trails and park facilities. =
Town parks close at dusk. If activity is =
occurring in
Town Parks after dusk, please call the Dane County Dispatch line at =
255-2345 to
report the activity. If the =
individuals
in the park are clearly in the act of vandalizing park property, call =
911
immediately. In addition, the Dane County =
Sherriff’s
department will be increasing surveillance. =
It is the town crew’s intent to spray weeds in =
portions
of Cherrywood Acres Park and along Town Right-of-Ways, that we maintain,
weather permitting, this =
week,
starting Wednesday the 27th. =
As always, the Town requests that residents avoid =
these
areas for a 24-hour period after they are sprayed. Thank you for =
your
patience and cooperation

Last year, Scott construction put down chip seal on =
several
Town roads, primarily in the Hickory Woods and Brassington =
neighborhoods. Due
to problems with the chips not adhering, these roads will be redone next =
week,
weather permitting. Please be careful when driving in areas with =
fresh
chip seal and loose gravel.
