This is a =
reminder
that next week (September 14/15/16) is bulk pick up for the Town of
Middleton. On your regular garbage day, Green Valley will pick up =
items
that do not fit into your normal trash containers. Please have =
your
materials out for Green Valley first thing in the =
morning.
Those items =
that are
not eligible to be picked up are listed in the Town Newsletter that was =
just
delivered to town residents in the past few days. If you have any
question about a specific item, please call Green Valley Disposal at =
251-7878
IN ADVANCE to avoid surprises.
This year, =
there
will be a small change in the process. As mandated by the =
Department of
Natural Resources. ALL ELECTRONICS (anything with an electronic =
cord or
internal electronics) will no longer be picked up as regular trash. =
They must
be handled separately. This means that you are no longer permitted =
to put
any electronics in your trash or out for bulk pickup AFTER NEXT =
WEEK.
Because of =
the new
rules, we have arranged for Green Valley to go through the Town twice =
during bulk
pickup – first for regular items, later the e-Waste =
Truck
will pickup electronic waste. As a result, you may see e-Waste =
items
“left” after the first truck goes =
through.
To =
reiterate, we
will no longer be able to pickup e-Waste, whether on regular or bulk =
pickup,
after next week.
Please ask =
the store
you purchase new electronics from to find out if they have a recycling
program. If not, you will need to take your old electronics to a =
firm
that recycles them.
