This is a reminder that next week (September 14/15/16) is bulk pick up
for the Town of Middleton. On your regular garbage day, Green Valley
will pick up items that do not fit into your normal trash containers.
Please have your materials out for Green Valley first thing in the
morning.
=20
Those items that are not eligible to be picked up are listed in the Town
Newsletter that was just delivered to town residents in the past few
days. If you have any question about a specific item, please call Green
Valley Disposal at 251-7878 IN ADVANCE to avoid surprises.
=20
This year, there will be a small change in the process. As mandated by
the Department of Natural Resources. ALL ELECTRONICS (anything with an
electronic cord or internal electronics) will no longer be picked up as
regular trash. They must be handled separately. This means that you
are no longer permitted to put any electronics in your trash or out for
bulk pickup AFTER NEXT WEEK.
=20
Because of the new rules, we have arranged for Green Valley to go
through the Town twice during bulk pickup - first for regular items,
later the e-Waste Truck will pickup electronic waste. As a result, you
may see e-Waste items "left" after the first truck goes through.
=20
To reiterate, we will no longer be able to pickup e-Waste, whether on
regular or bulk pickup, after next week.
=20
Please ask the store you purchase new electronics from to find out if
they have a recycling program. If not, you will need to take your old
electronics to a firm that recycles them.
