Town Hours
=20
The predicted snowfall and blizzard-like conditions are prompting the
Town to alert residents to the possibility that Town hours may be
altered tomorrow based on travel conditions - not only for Town
Personnel but also Town residents. IF you are planning to visit Town
Offices on Thursday, we would ask you to call ahead (608-833-5887) to be
assured that someone at the Town will be available to assist you. You
may hear Town Voice Mail, but it may not mean that staff is physically
at the Town Hall. Leave your name and number and you will be called
back either Thursday or Friday morning to follow up on your question(s).
=20
Trash/Recycle Pick Up =20
=20
The Town has checked with Advanced Disposal (formerly Veolia) on their
plans for scheduled Thursday trash and recycle pick up. Advanced
Disposal will make their decision early Thursday morning as to any
schedule changes. Even if the Town is not staffed, a message will be
sent to residents on the Town email subscription list if the schedule is
changed. Please check your email early in the morning if you have
questions.
=20
Finally, the Town wants you to know that the road crew is doing
everything they can to prepare for the predicted snowfall. Please have
patience tonight, tomorrow and Friday as the snow is predicted to
accumulate rapidly and drifting snow may close roads quickly after
having been plowed. =20
* Be safe during the storm and do not make unnecessary trips. =20
* Park vehicles in driveways and garages when available.
* Vehicles should not be parked along roadways. If there is no
option other than to park along roadways:
1. Park as far off the shoulders as possible as to allow snow
removal to be effective and rapid. =20
2. DO NOT PARK vehicles across the street from each other as it
may result in an opening too narrow for snowplow to traverse.
* Be alert for plows, avoid trailing too closely as plows have
blind spots, and do not pass plows on the right since visibility will be
limited by the spray of snow.
=20
The crew anticipates that the plows will need to be moving with speed to
work against the mass of the material expected. =20
