We're receiving more and more reports from bus drivers from the
Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District that people are not stopping
for stop signs when buses have them displayed when students are crossing
the streets.  Majority of these instances seem to take place along
Airport Road.

Please remember that it is a $240 fine. If the stop sign arm is
activated on a school bus, you have to stop as if it was an actual stop
sign at an intersection.

The only exception is if it is on a divided highway and you are driving
in the opposite lane from where the school bus is.

A Sheriff's Deputy or Police Officer DOES NOT have to be present to
observe the violation. The bus driver can get your license plate number,
contact the Sheriff or Police Department and you can be ticketed. It's a
$240 fine and four points on your driver's license.
