This April and early =
May, prescribed burns will be conducted at Goth Conservancy, Pope Farm =
Conservancy, and Settlers Prairie, weather and site conditions =
permitting. The purpose of the burns is to promote and maintain =
prairie, savanna and oak woodland vegetation in these open =
spaces.
The burns would be done =
sometime between 9am - 8pm. Prior to the burn, the burn crew will post =
"prescribed burn ahead" signs on roads adjacent to the burn =
areas.
The burns will be =
conducted by BioLogic Environmental Consulting, the company the =
Town has hired to manage its prairies and conservancy areas. For =

wants to alert residents that the City of Middleton is sponsoring their =
Clean and Green event this coming Saturday. Information about the =

The event is =
located at Nursery Drive at Deming Way (in the Airport Road Business =
Park). It allows residents to donate items to charities and =
recycle a wide variety of items at a single location. Hours are =
from 9 AM until 1 PM. Please use this service and recycle =
responsibly.
Thursday =
Tornado Drill on Schedule
As part of =
Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, a test Tornado =
Watch and Tornado Warning is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, April =
24th.
Widespread rain showers are expected over Wisconsin =
during much of Thursday with a few embedded thunderstorms in the central =
and south as low pressure moves across the Upper Midwest. However, =
no severe weather is expected at this time.
After =
coordination with Wisconsin Emergency Management, the Wisconsin =
Broadcasters Association and the Emergency Communications Board, the =
test Tornado Watch and test Tornado Warning will proceed as scheduled on =
Thursday.
The test Tornado Watch will be issued for all of =
Wisconsin at 1 pm CDT Thursday. The test Tornado Warning will be =
issued for all of Wisconsin at 145 pm CDT Thursday. The Tornado =
Watch and Tornado Warning test will conclude at 2 pm CDT. =
This will be a good time for businesses, schools, =
hospitals and families to practice safe procedures for severe =
weather.
