at the Museum of Printing, North Andover, MA=20
Celebrate Father=E2=80=99s Day, Sunday, June 21 at the Museum of Printing
located at 800 Massachusetts Avenue in North Andover. The Fair is
free to the public and runs from 10am =E2=80=93 4pm, rain or shine! =20
This is the perfect time to learn about book arts and printing =E2=80=93
see papermaking and bookbinding demonstrations, Stone Litho printing
(that=E2=80=99s us!), and Steamroller Printing in honor of the 100th
anniversary of the Vandercook Proof Press! We will have small prints
for sale, with a portion of each sale going to support the Museum of

This workshop will introduce students to Pronto Plates, a relatively
new product for lithographic printing. These plates allow for quick,
fun printing and creation of images. Hand-work and photo-based
image-making possibilities will be covered. Most materials for
workshops are provided. Students are responsible for providing their
own printing paper. Some paper will be available =20
for sale at the Studio.=20

Each Session Workshop runs 9am =E2=80=93 4pm, both days. =20
We require a minimum of 3 people to run the class; maximum of 4. =20
Students will learn how to make lithographic prints using
traditional stone or aluminum plate techniques depending on the
workshop. Lithography allows almost endless mark-making possibilities,
providing the artist with the freedom to create a wide range of
images. In both workshops, students will learn basic processing and
printing. Green alternatives to traditional print chemicals will be
covered. Most materials for workshops are provided. Students are
responsible for providing their own printing paper. Some paper will be
available for sale at the studio. =20
Upon completion of a workshop, artists have the option of working
independently in the studio at their own pace. Several fee schedules
are available. If a workshop is cancelled by the Studio, all workshop
fees will be refunded. If a student cancels within one week of the
class, fee will be refunded if a replacement student is found.=20

This workshop introduces students to the art of stone lithography.
Stone lithography provides endless mark-making possibilities and the
ability to rework an image almost indefinitely, keeping the history of
past impressions alive for each new state. This class will focus on
the concept of the progressive proof, allowing students to develop an
image or concept over the week and to examine many possible
variations. Emphasis will be on image development and technical
mastery. We=E2=80=99ll also explore green alternatives to traditional print
chemicals. This class is perfect for the beginner printmaker and for
those with experience who want to update their litho skills.=20

Contemporary Plate Lithography: The Litho Challenge
DATE & FEE: AUGUST 24 =E2=80=93 28, 2009, $ 825 PLUS $ 75 STUDIO FEE
This workshop will introduce lithography using aluminum and
polyester plates. Aluminum plates are a convenient and less weighty
alternative to traditional stone lithography and provide almost
endless mark-making possibilities. Polyester (Pronto or Smart) plates
are a great addition to the world of litho, offering quick, easy and
fun ways to supplement traditional lithographic techniques. Using
these bases, students will learn processing and printing; both black &
white and color. They will also explore green alternatives to
traditional print chemicals. Students will develop several related
images throughout the week with an emphasis on image development and
technical mastery. This class is perfect for the beginner printmaker
and for those with experience who want to update their litho plate

Lithography allows almost endless mark-making possibilities, providing the

processing and printing.<span style=3D""> </span>Green
alternatives to traditional print chemicals will be covered.<span style=3D"=
"> </span>Most materials for workshops are

offering quick, easy and fun ways to supplement traditional lithographic
techniques. Using these bases, students will learn processing and printing;
both black & white and color. They will also explore green alternatives=

traditional print chemicals. Students will develop several related images
throughout the week with an emphasis on image development and technical
