The heat of summer is upon us and we're making the most of it with an
outdoor event in July, an ongoing exhibit in the Gallery at Muskat
Studios, and a workshop on the calendar for August. Now that the
school year is over, we at Muskat Studios have an opportunity to focus
on making art, and also like to get outside for a while. Although the
heat is not for everyone, we're enjoying the longer hours of daylight,
and the relaxed schedule that comes with summer and hope to see many
of you at one of our events.
First up, we will be trying something new, under a tent at the=20

Join Muskat Studios at the 6th Annual Boston Handmade Marketplace in
Union Square this coming Saturday. The 6th annual Boston Handmade
Handmade Marketplace features hand-crafted art and objects by
independent New England artists and craftspeople along with arts
organizations and local craft studios that teach and encourage
creativity and craftsmanship. In addition to the work on display,
there will also be hands-on activities and craft demonstrations.=20
Muskat Studios will have a table set up for you to make your own print
=E2=80=93 stop by and support your local artists!

Exhibition: Candy Nartonis: Unique Prints=20
This exhibition has been extended through July! Many of you are busy
this summer =E2=80=93 and haven=E2=80=99t been able to stop by the studio y=
et to
see these beautiful monoprints. Here is your second chance! Please
call first to double-check we are in, as the weather is so nice we
might have to declare a "snow day".

invited to teach in Connecticut next month. =20
Workshop: Photo-Lithography - An Introduction
at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking=20
Aug. 2 =E2=80=93 Aug. 4, 10 =E2=80=93 4 each day
This three day workshop will provide students with an introduction to
photo-litho and some of the many possibilities of this medium. Open
to all levels, in this workshop, participants explore the
possibilities of photo litho, using computer-based positive films and
hand-drawn images on mylar. Basic exposure and development of photo
litho plates and printing are covered. Tips on mixing hand-drawn
mylars with computer images, multi-plate printing, and mixed media
will be discussed.
