Hello to everyone, and greetings from Costa Rica.
Reviewing the most recent messages posted on the list I realize I might =
be a little out of place, if so, please excuse me. It's just a couple of =
questions.
I'm interested in learning more about MicroWorlds and its effects on =
children's problem solving abilities or skills. I know that's very wide =
but I have searched the net for documents and/or resources about it and =
I can't seem to find anything. I did found a few articles about Logo and =
how its immediate feedback provides the students an opportunity to =
review their steps or process taken; however MicroWorlds is more than =
Logo and I would like to read about it.
The other thing that interests me is the inclusion of curricular =
thematics in the kids programming or in the computer lab activities. By =
curricular thematics I mean all the content covered in the different =
subjects that can be applied or enhanced by the use of MicroWorlds. The =
thing is that there are many ways to integrate content from say math or =
biology with the programming, but which way is more successful in taking =
advantage of MicroWorlds' potential while helping the students to really =
comprehend the content. Ok, I guess that's a tough question, so =
basically what I need is resources about that, successful experiences or =
methodologies about that integration.
Thanks to all and good bye,
