size=2>hello all!
I want to know the behavier of the turtle against
various screen size in
getting the command like "setpos [-300 -200],
sometime its goes to the
lowest point of the screen, and sometimes its
goes up, how can I know what is
the limit of coordinates of each
size, and what's the turtle does is a turn,
can we calculate where setpos
will be (when its larger than screen)' I
search information in Help and
didn't find....
thanks

only a partial answer to your question. The behavior of a turtle "bouncing"
off one margin and showing up someplace else on the screen is a function of
Projectsize creating a display boundary.

It is probably possible to
calculate the amount by which a setpos is outside the boundaries created by
Projectsize. I believe the turtle shows up the same distance inside the
opposite boundary as it is outside the exceeded boundary.

Sometimes
this can be used to interesting effect, as in the Lineweaver program I've
previously posted.

More often, in my uses, it is an undesirable
effect. I've found issuing a setprojectsize [2000 2000]
when I first launch MW will get rid of most all of that "bouncing"
effect. The only problem is the turtle will then be out of sight, off
the screen. In my uses this is not a problem. But in most applications it
will leave the user bewildered.

Older versions of Logo had the
commands fence and nofence, which gave the
option of having the "bounce" effect or not. Let me take this chance to urge
LCSI to restore these very useful commands.

Good luck,
Jeff
