It appears that each new MW version is slower then the previous one. 
That's not good.

To have a nearly-constant speed it is better to consider both the 
computer's performance and the MW version. May be it is possible to put a 
small calibrating procedure that calculates a special step-scale factor, 
and then have all steps of the turtle multiplied by this factor?

So on a fast computer the turtle will make small steps and produce a 
smooth movements, while on a slow machine the turtle will move more 
sharply (but will keep speed the same)...
