For Immediate
Release May 2007
On Friday, April 13th Paiste
America hosted its annual New York City Artist Hang
at S.I.R. studios.
The day consisted
of a few performances, product demonstrations and old friends
re-establishing long-time
performances. Sammy laid down a concrete foundation of powerful
grooves while Tobias and Guy added
their signature drum and
bass rhythms in-between. It was a very unique and refreshing approach
that
combined
three very different playing styles into one strong musical statement.
During a brief intermission, our artists had the
opportunity to test a number of newly introduced Paiste
cymbals. Among the new releases were several
2002 and RUDE models that were debuted at both the
Winter
NAMM Show in January and the Frankfurt Musikmesse in March. The brand
new Twenty line,
made of authentic Turkish
B-20 bronze, was the most eagerly anticipated introduction to the
artists and
guests. The combination of old world Turkish bronze with
Paiste’s hand manufacturing techniques add
a strong new voice to the Paiste palate of
sounds – many Paiste artists have already found a home in
their set ups for the Twenty line.
A new member to the Paiste family,
Jason
Gianni, closed the performance segment of
the day with a
jaw dropping drum solo. His approach to
four-way independence paired with an advanced knowledge of
poly-rhythms
made Jason’s performance a powerful way to end the day.
Paiste would like to thank S.I.R.
Studios, New York for its participation in this successful event. We’d
also like to thank our
dear friends Sammy, Tobias, Guy and Jason for participating with their
performances.
Last, but not least, we’d like to express our deepest thanks to
our Paiste family of artists who attended
the event. We value your friendship, passion
for music and devotion to the Paiste sound. We are already
excited for next year’s event!
Thank you.
