HUNDREDS OF BIKERS TO GATHER FOR FIRST RIDE 4 PEACE WEEKEND

PITTSBURGH =AD Hundreds of bikers will emerge on the City of Pittsburgh from
August 19-21, 2005, to ride in support of Pittsburgh=B9s youth. The first-eve=
r
Ride 4 Peace weekend, hosted by Team NEVA, a Pittsburgh-based clothing and
printing company that designs and manufactures apparel and accessories for
motorcycle riders, has launched an unprecedented effort to bring together
motorcycle riders from all walks of life =AD black, white, men, women, cruise=
r
and sport bike riders alike =AD to show their support for the future of the
region=B9s young people.

=B3We want to show these kids that there are people who care about them and w=
e
want to provide them with the support they need to succeed in life,=B2 said
Team NEVA co-founder Darryl Wiley.

The theme for the weekend=B9s events is, =B3Success is the Only Option.=B2 It is
meant to inspire young people to believe that they have unlimited
opportunities in life and their destinies are not sealed by their
environments. Organizers focused on young people in some of the Pittsburgh
region=B9s most distressed communities including the Hill District, North
Side, Homewood and Wilkinsburg =AD areas often besieged by violence. The
activities held throughout the weekend are designed with young people and
families in mind, and offer safe alternatives to hanging on the streets.

Ride 4 Peace Weekend will kick-off with a bowling party at Funfest
Entertainment Center, 2525 Freeport Rd., in Harmarville, on Friday, August
19, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Kids and adults will enjoy 40 lanes of bowling=

8 pool tables, laser tag and video games among a host of other activities.

The signature event =AD a =8CHood Ride through several communities =AD takes plac=
e
on Saturday, August 20. Individual riders and motorcycle clubs from cities
and states including Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New Jersey=
,
New York and Ohio, will gather at the Giant Eagle store in East Hills,
located at 9001 Frankstown Rd. at Verona Road. Registration is at 8 a.m. an=
d
the ride begins at 10 a.m.

The =8CHood Ride, or parade of bikes, will end at the Oval in Schenley Park
where it will turn into a cookout featuring food, games and family-friendly
fun from noon to 6 p.m.

The weekend wraps up on Sunday, August 21, where bikers, families and youth
are invited to gather at Bidwell Presbyterian Church, 1025 Liverpool Str.,
North Side, for a Bike Blessing at 9 a.m. A unity church service will follo=
