Kathyrne Bogue <MOONBEAMSL@aol.com> She doesn't belong to this branch of SHELBYs, but she has access to records I don't, and has been a REALLY big help with the more current Shelby lines. You can contact her directly above, or thru the SHELBY GENFORUM.

Did George W. and Jane L. Shelby have a son Elbert Sevier Shelby Born 3/5/1855 in Greenwood Ark? This is my great-grandfather, but I have no further records about his family. He married Lieuisa Price and they both died in Murray Co. Ok.

Winfield Jordan Shelby married Ella Rose Butler on 6/17/31 in Yuma, AZ. She is still living but does not seem to have any information about E.S. Shelby and his family. They had three children: Winfield James Shelby b.12/15/33 Riverside, CA. d.3/4/64 Riverside, CA. Jerry Oscar Shelby b.10/11/1935 Riverside, CA. d. 3/18/1997, Oregon. Margaret Aylene Shelby, still living. (my mother)

Who did Winfield Jordan Shelby marry? I don't have any information other than birth & death. I have never found E.S. Shelby on the census, so I do not know who his parents are. The family of William Shelby b. 1780/90 <N.C.> d. Jan-Aug 1832 ,Dickson,Tennesse and Sarah A. King b. 1798 d. 1844, Johnson, Arkansas were in , Sebastian,Arkansas during E.S.'s birth. Children of William & Sarah:

Yeah!! This is my E.S. Shelby. Winfield is my grandfather. We have no other information about the family so I am searching for E.S. Shelby's line and Lieuisa's line.
Can you help? I have just begun my genealogical researching, but this is really fascinating.

I am not a family member from this line, but in my Shelby files I have the following children for Elbert & Lieuisa:
1) Oscar Taylor Shelby b. 4 Jun 1888 Willis Point,Van Zandt,Texas
2) Ellen <1891> Texas
3) Sarah 1894 Texas
4) Winfield Jordan Shelby b. 16 Mar 1896, Indian Territory d. 25 Feb 1973 buried Willamette
National Cemetery,,Multonah, Oregon. I have E.S. dying 7 Aug 1936 & Lieuisa 1 Jan 1897. An interesting sideline is John Turner Shelby was born 4 Mar 1844 Greenwood, Sebastian, Arkansas & died 13 Dec 1883 in Willis Point, Van Zandt,Texas. Maybe they are related.

Elbert Sevier SHELBY was born on 5 Mar 1853 in Greenwood, Sebastion Co, AR. He probably connects in some way to John Turner Shelby..But Elbert is not on the 1860 census for Delance M Shelby's family when he would have still been a child He died in 1936 in Sulphur, Murray Co, OK. He was buried in 1936 in Sulphur, Murray Co, OK. Buried at Fletcher Cemetery
He may well be a brother, or at least connected to John Turner Shelby, b Greenwood, Sebastion Co, AR, and m in Kaufman Co, TX in 1865 to Martha Martin. John is the ancestor of Darlyn Begin <begin@freewweb.com>
A correction was made in the 1880 census for Kaufman Co, TX- p154- He's E.S. Shelby, age 25, a widower, in HH of Wm Merriman & wife Narcissa.
Page 183- He's Elbert, age 25 in HH of Wm Merriman & wife Elizabeth-Their marriage record- William Merryman & Narcissus E Kilman or Kellman, 13 Oct 1875, Ellis Co, TX
Lieuisa/Louisa PRICE and Elbert Sevier SHELBY had the following children:

10 ii. Ellen Arcene SHELBY was born on 4 Jan 1891 in Willis Point, Van Zandt Co, TX.
