the question about port of departure was one i looked into shortly before i 
left for my trip - couldn't find much - checked at the tregaron library and 
they suggested i go to the national library in aberestwyth but i wasn't able to 
get there.  was told by several people that bristol was the main port with 
ships to america at that time.  i had thought maybe somewhere nearer to 
tregaron on the coast - like cardigan or aberestwyth. 

i will be looking into setting up a 501-c-3 tax exempt organization with the 
purpose of funding a "shelby center" and markers in tregaron.  that way 
donations are tax exempt.  when i get the mission statement correct would like 
to start setting up a board and you are one for sure that should be on this.  
would love to find a shelby family attorney that would submit the paperwork at 
no charge.  i can fill it out.  have done nonprofit work and fundraising for 
years. i've got a few people too in tregaron who would probably be on the 
board.  do you have any other suggestions about shelby family devotees here?  i 
have a few shelby relatives who would probably be generous both in time and 
finances as well.   

i got a message about a map you have about where evan actually lived near 
tregaron.  i was told where the locals thought it was but would love to see the 
map to see if i was anywhere close.  where is that on your website?
