I hope you don't get tired of hearing "Thank You!".

These should make the connection.  I will order copies today.

I do have copies of court records of William Houston Shelby's petition to 
have John Rufus Shelby declared mentally incompetent (a lunatic).  And there 
was a suit against some of J. R.'s children by other of his children (after 
his death) regarding land.  I have a copy of this one.  This later one names 
John Rufus and Martha Deaton's children.  All I needed were records that 
connected John Rufus with Moses and Mary Ann Knox Shelby.  I believe that 
John Rufus' brother, Daniel Shelby, also had a son named John R. Shelby.  It 
has been difficult finding the documents substantiating one from the other.  
I did find a census for Mecklenburg which listed "Rufus" Shelby, so I am 
guessing that to differentiate between the two J.R.s, John Rufus was called 
"Rufus".
