Hi everyone

I've spoken to David Bromwich at the Somerset Studies centre. The good =
news is that the diary has been transcribed, and there is a reference =
copy of the transcription on the shelf of the Somerset Studies Library =
at Taunton, edited by William G. Hall, Dec. 1992. The bad news is, it =
is a typed copy, so it doesn't look as though it has been published, =
making this the only copy we know of. It's over 260 pages long, so even =
if I went into Taunton to transcribe it for my Wedmore friends, it would =
take the best part of a month of Sundays (plus I'm unsure of the =
copyright ethics in this case - would my copying an edited copy =
constitute breach of copyright? Hopefully, someone here can tell me!).

David thinks he has William G Hall's Devon address if none of us already =
has it, so just in case, he said he'd leave a note of it at the library =
on Monday for me (Monday is David's day off). David also suggested that =
perhaps we should see if Mr Hall would perhaps let us have a photocopy =
of the diary, which would certainly be a lot better than nothing.

Cheers!

Sue
