I also cut my own replacement from acrylic (lexan is nice but will haze
quickly in strong UV).  In 1995 a 48x48 inch sheet of half inch bronze
acrylic cost me $175.  I also cut new companionway wash boards in two
sections.  Works very nicely.

According to the guys at Commercial Plastics here in Connecticut the =
material of choice is acrylic. This was a surprise to me as I had =
intended to use Lexan, however I bought acrylic and cut my own. So far =
