I had the same problem.....couldn't find cream colored snap caps.  From =
the hardware store I got a spray can of a suitable color, and sprayed =
the caps ( off the boat).   Worked OK, but yours is the proper solution.
Krylon recently came out with a spray line for plastics called Fusion. =
Should work better than what I used.
