We were advised by another owner to simply run a shock cord from the lower cam cleat at the aft end of the cabintop across to the base of the stanchion. This reduces the "bounce" in the line as it leads from the fairlead. This simple change has virtually eliminated over-rides. We us it on both sides.

  Subject: [frers-list]starboard side over-rides

  hello,

have any frers33 owners experienced a larger number of over-rides tacking the jib to starboard side? we have always had to have only a single wrap on the winch on this side tacking the head sail, which noticeably slows the tack. i believe that the winch angle needs to be straightened up and have just purchased a canted winch pad to test me theory. the pad had an angle of about 3-4 degrees. i think that the canting angle should be even larger. any similar experience or solutions?

  respectfully,
