Courtney,

Depends.=A0 The spreader has mostly a compression=A0load on it from the mas=
t and the=A0attachments at the deck.=A0=A0I don't recall but I'm guessing t=
hey're aluminum.=A0 You can get aluminum welded.=A0 I actually had the same=
thing with my first boat only they hit the base of the mast and took a big=
=A0slice out of it with the lawnmower blade.=A0 I had it welded and you cou=
ldn't even see where the weld or the gash was.=A0=A0It was fine for the lif=
e of that boat.
=A0
If it's just a slice out of the spreader you can get that fixed.=A0 If the =
tip of the spreader has been destroyed then you're going to need a new spre=
ader.=A0 I wouldn't change the size of the spreaders (ones chewed up at the=
end so just make a new end only shorter and then match the other side).=A0=
I think that would change the load patterns and could be dangerous.
=A0
I'd find a place that can do aluminum welding and then take it in to them a=
nd see what they say, or to a rigger.

My recently acquired Frers33 has a spreader that was hit by the previous ow=
ner's lawnmower blades while stored in his back yard, which chewed up one e=
nd.
Can this be reliably repaired and if so by whom, and if not where can a lea=
st cost replacement be had ?
Appreciatively,
C.Thomas
