Thanks once again for the help.

Unfortunately the tip was chewed up. I have a new replacement part cost 
of $400 from a local rigger. Having never bought a spreader I don't know 
if that's market competitive or if the vendor is critical.

What vendors would you patronize for this item and what would you look 
for to determine if this fix is all it should be ? Is there any warranty 
or guaranty that should be sought or any vendor to avoid ?

Any caveats regarding the installation ?
