Thanks Ed

I had a feeling I'd have to make my own templates. Luckily only half the
rudder was affected.

Thanks for the help.

The most common foam I've use for building rudders is
Divinycell H-80 which has a weight of 5lbs. We also use
higher density foam such as a800 or a1200 which have a weight
of 8 & 12lbs respectively for high performance rudders and
or rudders which are highly loaded. My guess is the lighter
of the two would suffice for the Frers 33, as long as you can
achieve a clean and well prepped bonding surfaces to the
existing rudder skin, remaining foam and post.

If you have any cavities under the skin, where you have dug
out the foam I would suggest drilling a small hole at the
closed end of the cavity, so that when you pour the expanding
foam into the void the resulting gas and air will have a place
          to escape.

If you can't find a template for the rudder, hopefully you
still have one side of the rudder intact, and then you can
scribe a template from the area opposite of the delamination.
Another way would be to use a ships curve or batten to
          reshape/fair your rudder.

I found some rudder delamination and opened it up to see what
          was going
on and found a big void where the foam has rotted away. I am
          planning
on filling the void with urethane foam, shaping it then
          re-glassing it.
does anyone have a suggestion on what weight foam to use (8lb
          or 16lb)?
Also does any know where to get templates for shaping the
          rudder?
