Michael,
=A0
The former owner of my Frers also=A0used a=A0spartite plug for the mast.=A0=
When I got the boat the mast wasn't in it and I put the mast in and the sp=
artite=A0plug in with an aft rake.=A0 I didn't like the way the boat sailed=
like that which was most (almost all) of the spartite in=A0front of the ma=
st.=A0=A0Eventually I switched it around to almost all of the spartite in t=
he rear of the mast with the mast nearly vertical.=A0 It remained that way =
for all the time I owned the boat and we were very=A0fast.
=A0
Cheers,
Frank Albert

In the tuning guide it says the forestay should be 46'1" (ish) from the "ho=
unds" to the pin. =A0Traditionally, the hounds refer to where the the upper=
s attach to the mast. =A0Is this supposed to be a pin to pin measurement? =
=A0Just curious as I just bought mine last year and no matter what I did to=
tune the rig, I had some pretty serious weather helm once the breeze got u=
p above 12-15knts. =A0The previous owner used spartite and had the rig in t=
he center. =A0I plan on removing the spartite and placing the rig in the af=
t most position at the step and 1" off the partner as I've read on the site=
. =A0
Any info on correcting weather helm, forestay measurements, etc would be gr=
eatly appreciated.
Gracias.
