You indicated that you went down to the vinyl ester. Why did you remove t=
he gel coat? Especially if you saw no signs of blistering. Just curious. =
For fairing of foils, I suggest using 3M 30 inch flexible long board. Can =
be used wet or dry. I recommend wet. I sand with a person spraying the hu=
ll intermittently and spraying the board occassionally to remove sanding de=
bris. Good luck. =20

Hi all,
Have sanded d'Ad lib's hull - waterline and below - back to the vinyl ester=
.=20
Brutal work. The good news is, after 27 years, not a single blister, soft s=
pot=20
or other imperfection. Washed and wetted down there is no ripple of imperfe=
ction=20
to be found in the reflection. Come spring, sealant and 6 coats of inter pr=
otect=20
before bottom paint should keep her dry and healthy for a good long time. P=
ics=20
avail. if anyone would like to see.
However, keel and rudder (which is still dry) are not as fair, so I'm wonde=
ring=20
if anyone has templates and/or methodology to suggest, so I can bring them =
fair,=20
prior to coating and finishing. All help appreciated.
