At haulout I saw a few tiny bubbles in the paint at the waterline here and there. That was enough to set me off. If something was happening anywhere in this hull, I wanted to get it, correct it, and stop it soonest.
We used scrapers to take off the accumulated, old bottom paint (other bigger projects had taken priority since I bought the boat 2 years ago). Ehen we began sanding, we had to take the gelcoat off at the waterline to get a good look at anything that might be under it. In doing so, I saw the gelcoat had some variations in thickness, and while under where the bubbles had been the vinyl ester was still perfect, dry identical to all other areas of the hull, decided that we were far enough into this project to go all the way.
Slight underestimation...
Thanks for your suggestion on which longboard to use on keel & rudder. Still hoping somebody will check in on templates or a methodology to keep my airfoils in harmony (for want of a better term).

For fairing of foils, I suggest using 3M 30 inch flexible long board. Can be used wet or dry. I recommend wet. I sand with a person spraying the hull intermittently and spraying the board occassionally to remove sanding debris. Good luck.

Hi all,
Have sanded d'Ad lib's hull - waterline and below - back to the vinyl ester.=
