I noticed a fracture in the weld for our outhaul fitting at the point =
where it attaches to the mainsail clew. I think I have seen on other =
posts that this is a universal problem with our boats. I'm sure I can =
get it welded, but have others just eliminated the car in favor of some =
kind of sliding strap to hold the clew close to the boom when the =
outhaul is eased? Any advice on repairing or replacing the existing =
system?
