Edgar

There is no car or slug on Persistence. Just the Velcro strap provided by =
sail maker. Seems to work normally

I noticed a fracture in the weld for our outhaul fitting at the point where=
it attaches to the mainsail clew. I think I have seen on other posts that =
this is a universal problem with our boats. I'm sure I can get it welded, b=
ut have others just eliminated the car in favor of some kind of sliding str=
ap to hold the clew close to the boom when the outhaul is eased? Any advice=
on repairing or replacing the existing system?
